Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using MyListen, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Purpose

MyListen converts user-provided text into audio on the user's device. Speech output may contain pronunciation, timing, prosody, or text-conversion errors and must not be the sole basis for professional advice or critical decisions.

2. Your Content and Responsibility

You must have the right to process, store, and share the text you provide and the audio you generate. You are responsible for that content and its use. You may not use the app to infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.

3. Speech Model Use Restrictions

Some English voices are generated by the Supertonic model licensed under BigScience OpenRAIL-M. When using those models or their output, you must not:

1. violate any applicable national, federal, state, local, or international law or regulation;
2. exploit, harm, or attempt to exploit or harm minors in any way;
3. generate or disseminate verifiably false information or content for the purpose of harming others;
4. generate or disseminate personally identifiable information that can be used to harm an individual;
5. place generated information or content in any context without expressly and intelligibly disclosing that it is machine generated;
6. defame, disparage, or otherwise harass others;
7. impersonate or attempt to impersonate others, including through deepfakes, without their consent;
8. use the model for fully automated decision-making that adversely impacts an individual's legal rights or creates or modifies a binding, enforceable obligation;
9. discriminate against or harm individuals or groups based on online or offline social behavior or known or predicted personal or personality characteristics;
10. exploit vulnerabilities of a group based on age or social, physical, or mental characteristics in order to materially distort behavior in a way that causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm;
11. discriminate against individuals or groups based on legally protected characteristics or categories;
12. provide medical advice or interpret medical results; or
13. generate or disseminate information for use in the administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration, or asylum processes, such as predicting whether an individual will commit fraud or a crime through text profiling.

A complete copy of the BigScience OpenRAIL-M license is provided with the model inside the app. This section incorporates the use restrictions from Section 5 and Attachment A of that license. If a translation differs from the English license supplied with the app, the supplied English license controls.

4. Generated Content

Except where the applicable model license states otherwise, the model licensor claims no rights in the output you generate. You remain accountable for generated content and its subsequent use, and no use may violate these Terms or the applicable model license.

5. Service and Disclaimer

The app and its bundled models are provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, no warranty is made that the app will be uninterrupted, fit for a particular purpose, accurate, or error-free. Review audio before sharing or relying on it.

6. Changes and Termination

These Terms may be updated if app functionality, model licenses, or legal requirements change. Use that materially violates these Terms is not licensed, and the related authorization may be terminated where permitted by applicable law.
