Privacy Policy

MyListen is an iPhone app that processes text and generates audio locally on the user's device. This policy explains how information is handled.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

MyListen does not require an account or automatically collect names, precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or information used for cross-app tracking. MyListen includes no advertising SDK and does not sell user information. We receive feedback content and optional contact information only when you choose to submit feedback, as described below.

2. Your Text and Audio

Text that you paste, edit, or import is stored locally on your device. Generated audio, episode settings, and listening progress are also stored locally.

Speech generation does not send this content to a developer-operated server or cloud text-to-speech service. Feedback does not automatically include text or audio from your library; content that you deliberately include in a feedback description or screenshot is uploaded with that feedback. When you intentionally export a file with the system share sheet, the file is handled by the app or service you select.

3. Built-In Voices and On-Device Processing

MyListen includes Chinese and English speech models and voice resources with the app. It can also use compatible Apple system voices that you have already downloaded in iOS Settings. Both paths generate audio on the device. MyListen does not upload your text, call a cloud text-to-speech service, or download voice models from a developer server; iOS manages the download and availability of Apple system voices.

4. Purchase and the App Store

MyListen is offered as a one-time paid download through the App Store. Apple processes purchases, payments, refunds, and purchase history under its own policies. The developer does not directly collect payment-card or banking credentials inside the app.

5. Voluntary Feedback

When you select Send Feedback, your category, description, optional contact details, up to three screenshots you choose, app version, build number, OS version, and interface language are sent over HTTPS to the developer’s Tencent Cloud CloudBase service in Shanghai, China. They are used only to handle feedback, investigate issues, and improve the app, never for advertising or cross-app tracking. Only authorized administrators can read feedback and screenshots.

The system photo picker provides only your selected images. Images are resized and re-encoded before upload. We do not request broad photo-library, camera, or microphone access, or automatically upload episodes, audio, full diagnostic logs, or unique device identifiers. Avoid unrelated personal information in descriptions and screenshots. Network infrastructure processes source IP addresses; application rate-limit records retain only a daily salted hash, not the raw IP.

Contact information is optional. You can submit without it, but we cannot contact you directly. A successful submission shows a feedback reference. You can email that reference to the address below to request access or deletion. Feedback and screenshots expire 180 days after submission and are purged by a daily automated task. Incomplete uploads expire after one hour and are removed by the same task. Deleting feedback does not affect your local library. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete feedback you already submitted to the server.

6. Retention and Deletion

You can delete an episode and its generated audio inside the app. Uninstalling the app removes information stored inside the app container. Files you intentionally exported or backed up elsewhere are not affected.

7. Children's Privacy

MyListen is not designed to collect personal information from children and contains no child-directed advertising or social features.

8. Policy Updates

If a future feature changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated before that feature is released, and permission will be requested where required.
